John’s business practice is focused primarily on corporate transactions, contracts, real estate, general business law and disputes. Clients include public companies, small and midsize businesses, individuals, entrepreneurs, athletes and non-profits in transactions and litigation. John also regularly counsels clients with regard to civil matters including employment, tort and contract disputes.

John Powers graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in 1996, where he was Captain of the baseball team. He earned numerous academic and athletic honors, including selections to the Pac-10 All-Academic Baseball Team and Pac-10 Baseball First Team. After being drafted by the San Diego Padres, John played professional baseball for eight seasons – six before law school and two during – in the San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers organizations.

John Powers is also a Senior Adviser to the Business Council for International Understanding, a White House initiative created by President Eisenhower.
